Job Description:

Montefiore's Patient Access Center is the primary gateway into the Montefiore Health System providing timely access to care and innovative services for the communities we serve. We are the centralized call center responsible for handling incoming and outgoing call activity, including scheduling for primary and specialty care providers within Montefiore, managing referrals, and managing provider templates. 

The Manager of Client Services in Montefiore's Patient Access Center is responsible for maximizing access to care across primary and specialty care sites to achieve organizational patient access goals driven by budget, visit volume, provider productivity, and call center efficiency. This includes but is not limited to working closely with providers to develop templates that utilize advanced scheduling strategies and the development and execution of coordinated scheduling capabilities within Epic Cadence. The Client Services Manager serves as the subject matter expert on practice and departmental front end process, physician relations, and Epic Cadence scheduling system builds that impact patient access across both the Montefiore Medical Group and the Faculty Practice Group. 

Under the direction of the Director of Client Services and the Associate Vice President of Patient Access, the Client Services Manager coaches, manages, and trains our team of client support application analysts in Epic Cadence coordinated scheduling and template management strategies. An integral member of the Client Services and Patient Access Center team, the Client Services Manager implements and manages programs and processes necessary to achieve system wide access metrics. 

This role requires excellent team-building skills to successfully engage and collaborate with practice and departmental leaders and physicians across the organization. Additional requirements include Epic Cadence certification, extensive experience building Epic Cadence decision trees, expert knowledge of provider scheduling templates. Successful candidates would also possess project management and supervisory experience, certifications in additional Epic applications, and knowledge of call center operations. Bachelor's degree required.


  • Works directly with physicians and other providers, Practice Managers, and Department Administrators to proactively review provider and practice performance and opportunities to increase access to care
  • Leads Patient Access Transformation initiatives at both the department and physician level to assure access barriers are removed
  • Accountable for implementing systems to achieve the access metrics defined by senior leadership and approved by the Patient Access Steering Committee 
  • Maintains leading edge knowledge of emerging best practices for improving access and make recommendations for their deployment. Assumes an oversight role for the implementation
  • Complies with all Montefiore policies and procedures, undertakes additional assignments, and flexibly manages all activities to meet expected time frames
